Peer review procedure

Seismo Verlag is established and grounded within the academic community of social sciences. We are committed to socio‐scientific relevance and significance as well as to a high quality. We ensure this high standard of academic quality by means of peer reviews.

The respective committees of editors examine the manuscripts planned for specific series. We include external assessors – especially when the independence would not be guaranteed otherwise. We also request external expertise for other manuscripts.

The assessors need to be familiar with the topic. It is important for us to make sure that the reviewers have no relation of dependence to the author whatsoever – not professionally, nor personally or financially. The assessors can accept or reject a manuscript, or they can recommend a revision so as to meet specific expectations. The authors receive the relevant excerpts (anonymized) from the expertise.
